Brilliant for Snorkellers
The media could not be loaded.
I bought this in June 2026 to take on my trip to Egypt, and it was great fun.I flew out from Glasgow Airport and had no problems taking it in my hand luggage. Returning through Sharm El Sheikh I had to carry it in my hold luggage though!I had no problem using off the hotels private jetty, although they admitted that they had not seen one before. Surprisingly I was not allowed to use my weight belt that I normally use for snorkelling for “health and safety reasons”. Maybe when Subnados are more common and they start to experience problems with hair getting entangled etc (see Jason Alidor’s review/warning) that may change.I’m in my sixty’s now so speed is not a priority for me, I found the speed to be perfect for a leisurely glide through the reefs and corals, obviously snorkelling is more streamlined and efficient than a scuba tank and kit, so divers and youngsters may want more.I opted to use the arm mount which was perfect as I like to have a spare hand to pinch my nose and clear my ears, I have not tried the handle yet.I have been extremely vigilant in applying the silicone grease to the oil rings before use and so far, the charging port has always been bone dry afterwards, though it’s too soon to comment on its long-term reliability. The battery life has been impressive too, but then I only power it for a minute or so at a time when I’m underwater, but even my longest sessions have only used about 50% of the battery.Recommended.

no European airline accepts underwater scooters
This product is completely unusable in the UK. The listing claims it can be transported by plane, but that is not true – no European airline accepts underwater scooters in either cabin or checked baggage. This makes the product impossible to travel with, and therefore useless for its intended purpose.

Good bit of kit
Seems to be a good little bit of kit, pulls my fat bod no problem, only used it in the pool for now but gonna give it a sea/ river trial real soon, was going to buy another along with the twin mount, but it’s gone up by over £160 just for the unit, so unless the price drops back down to what I paid for this one. I’ll be sticking to just the one for now

Scuba
The product is fantastic and user-friendly, featuring three speed settings. However, I wish it offered a bit more speed. The charger lasts for about 15 minutes, which is adequate.

Unreliable ports – leaking – and no customer service.
Buyers need to be aware there are two connecting ports to this item: one for charging and one for controlling. Both you remove and plug back in regularly. Both have issues regarding being reliably watertight. My experience was that water got into both, randomly. (And that was having read and carefully followed all instructions.)There is a design floor. The item is unreliable.Other users have had similar experiences. (Although there are also many good reviews.)If the unit breaks, it will be hard or impossible to prove it is a design floor and not users’ improper use. This was my real concern. Therefore before the inevitable happened and it broke, I called the manufacturer Waydoo several times to express the issue about finding drops of water inside either or both ports after each use, and to ask them what can be done to make it reliably seal. They never picked up.I then filled in their online contact form and expressed the same. I got an automated reply saying they would respond as soon as possible. They never replied- or at least as of five weeks later they still haven’t.Once broken, I don’t suppose you can prove the leaking into the terminals is a design floor rather than something you have done. That is the main issue. That and poor (or rather zero) customer service.I returned the item to Amazon in the return window before I was faced with this problem. If Waydoo sorted out this design floor so the two terminals are reliably watertight. And if they had reliable after-sales customer service. I would own one of their products. Until then I shall pass on this company.
