Beast of a ting
It’s a beast of a chip, I had upgraded from a 9800x3d (admittedly an already excellent chip, and I certainly did not need the upgrade, but you only live once) and this thing undervolts a lot better than the 9800x3d and is basically a chart topper in everything you throw at it. In my case with an Artic liquid freezer 3 pro and Fractal design north XL case, the thermals are actually excellent if anything a little better (though admittedly that’s with an undervolt, and it still gets a little toasty at the top end but within safe limits, around 85c) but considering it’s a 16 core 32 thread beast with 3d v cache I can live with that. This chip will certainly age gracefully, and is worth it over the 9950x3d2 even (that chip is not worth the premium) if you’re on the fence, I say go for it.

Blazing fast
Maximum powaaaa! Really good but pricy CPU lol. Overall happy tho

Great performance with reasonable temps
Great performance with good temperatures. Its allowed me to do a reasonable amount of overclocking and undervolting to test its performance. Overall performance is way more than I would ever need, the multi application performance is 👌

MUST BUY
The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D is an absolute beast of a processor—one of those rare components that instantly transforms a high‑end PC into something genuinely next‑level. Whether you’re gaming, streaming, editing, or running heavy workloads, this chip handles everything with ridiculous ease. The combination of 16 cores and 32 threads means multitasking feels effortless. You can render, encode, and game at the same time without the system even flinching. But the real magic comes from AMD’s 3D V‑Cache™ technology. The massive 144MB of total cache gives this CPU a huge advantage in gaming performance, delivering ultra‑smooth frame rates and lightning‑fast responsiveness even in the most demanding titles.Thermals and efficiency are impressive too. Despite its power, the 9950X3D runs cooler and more efficiently than you’d expect from a chip this capable. Pair it with a good cooler and it stays stable, quiet, and consistently high‑performing. For creators, the productivity performance is outstanding. Video editing, 3D modelling, software development—everything feels faster, smoother, and more responsive. It’s the kind of CPU that doesn’t just meet expectations; it blows right past them.If you want a processor that dominates in gaming and crushes heavy workloads, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D is an easy recommendation. It’s powerful, efficient, and one of the most impressive pieces of hardware AMD has ever released.

Powerhouse Performance with Noticeable Heat — Worth It for the Right User
Installed the AMD Ryzen™ 9 9950X3D on an ASUS X870E-E board with a top-mounted Lian Li Hydroshift LCD 360 NB AIO cooler and 11 Lian Li strategically positioned case fans (side intake, bottom intake, and full exhaust configuration). This is not a budget build, and the processor certainly reflects that—premium pricing and specs to match.Performance-wise, the CPU handles day-to-day applications like Excel and Word with ease but runs warmer than expected for such light tasks—idling around 58°C. Under gaming load (Forza Horizon 5 and MS Flight Simulator), temperatures rarely exceed 65–70°C, which is surprisingly stable given the specs. However the idle temp is still hotter than I am used to from previous builds, even with extensive cooling, however I believe this is normal for this CPU.The AMD software suite is intuitive and well-integrated. That said, AI Overclocking proved unstable for my setup, so I’ve opted out of using it. Stability remains excellent without it. Also Ryzen Master refuses to install for some reason, so have not been able to use it.Overall, happy with the CPU’s raw capability. If you are building for high-performance workloads or gaming and are comfortable with managing thermal output, this chip delivers. Just know you’ll want solid cooling and may need to dial back on aggressive overclocking.

Consistent high performance across gaming and multithreaded workloads
This processor delivers sustained performance across a variety of intensive applications. Utilizing its 16-core, 32-thread architecture alongside the 3D V-Cache technology, it handles demanding workloads with measurable efficiency. In practical use, it provides stable frame rates and prevents bottlenecking in CPU-bound gaming scenarios. Furthermore, it significantly reduces processing and render times during 3D object creation and modeling tasks. The chipset demonstrates consistent stability under heavy load without unexpected performance throttling or failure. Overall, it functions exactly as specified, providing substantial compute power for users requiring both high-end gaming and heavy productivity capabilities.

Nice CPU, however…
A very nice CPU, I updated from an i9 9900k, which was my 1st silicon lottery winner as I had all cores at 4.75 ghz locked for 6+ years. Beast of a chip, even now.I don’t think I wont the silicon lottery this time but I will be looking into locking it at a certain frequency and disabling the boost as I don’t like the fans ramping up and down constantly, this thing can suck in the juice fast and thus the heat. My 360 AIO rad handles it fine but I just don’t like the clocks jumping around all the time. It bounces around 5.1 to 5.4 non stop. I will try to lock it at 5.1.Also noticed corruption in graphics from onboard graphics. Not sure if this is a damaged chip or not but time will tell.Affinity photo corrupts it’s graphics and text was doubling up in windows. Now got GPU plugged in the OS graphics text issues are no longer an issue but affinity photo is still corrupting.I will update this review once I find out why and resolution and others to have answer if facing the same issue.

Damn, it’s hot!
Ok, not hot for CPUs, but it still runs warmer than I like. With Expo in the Bios on, I get 49-50 idle, which seems quite warm for doing almost nothing. And that’s with 3 fans front, 1 rear and one in the side blowing air directly towards the GPU and CPU and a 360 AIO water cooler. I can get around 46-47 with expo off, but then I lose the better ram speeds.Looking around this actually seems average and AMD says it’s fine up to 95C, but don’t start worrying till 80c. Games I’ve tried have so far have just gone has high as 71-2, but usually stay around 60-65. The weird thing is that some articles say we should get as low as 30C on idle which I find a fantasy! Also the weather right now is very warm so that probably does not help the ambient temps.Messing with fan speeds did lower temps by 3-4 C, but then my Pc sounds like a jet about to take off!Performance wise I haven’t super-tested it, but everything I’ve shoved at it it handles easy so far, just, boy, it sweats, unlike my 5080 which, by comparison is having it nice and easy.So far so good, but when I can I may try for an even better AIO cooler.
