Perfect First Drone – So Easy to Use!

This is my first drone, and I honestly couldn’t have picked a better one to start with.The setup was incredibly straightforward, especially with my iPhone. Downloaded the DJI Fly app, connected everything, followed the on-screen prompts, and I was ready to go in no time. The app is very intuitive and beginner-friendly – it walks you through each step clearly, including activation and firmware updates.Flying it is surprisingly easy. The controls feel smooth and responsive, and the stability in the air gave me confidence straight away. Even as a complete beginner, I felt comfortable after just a short practice flight.The QuickShots feature works brilliantly – just tap what you want to film and the drone automatically performs cinematic movements while recording. It makes you look like you know what you’re doing, even if you’re brand new!Video quality is excellent for the size and price, and being under 250g makes it super convenient.If you’re thinking about getting your first drone, I’d highly recommend the DJI Mini 4K. Great value, easy to use, and loads of fun.

Wow best buy ever! Easy to set up, easy to fly and Amazing pic quality. Took my teenage son out for a first flight, he mastered it instantly and with the extra battery i purchased we had about 50mins of fun . It’s easy to download your pics and videos and great that you can edit them in the fly app. As a first drone, i’d highly recommended this.The only thing i would say is that the batteries take a long time to charge, I think i’ll buy a faster charger.

Great 4k camera drone
out of the box it took a quick flick on YouTube to work out how to set it up, as no instructions came with it, However don’t let this put you off as this is a fun little drone! its got a good solid brace that protects it when not in use and comes with a protective handy carry bag with a shoulder strap, there is also a clear cover to protect the camera when not in use, takes literally a few mins to set up or put away, take the brace off, unfold the 4 legs, take the camera cover off and set it somewhere flat, the controller has 2 slots on the edge to hold the remote control pins so it fits neatly in the bag, pull the stand up and slot in a phone, I’ve used an iPhone and android, both cables come with it, once you’ve got it connected I strongly advise watching a couple of you tubes to get you set up, once you know how its done its really easy, flys great, even in strong winds held its own, stood the battery life it said of 30 mins and came with 2 batteries, video quality is pretty good and so are the photos, I practiced by videoing the house and had to take a number of clips and photos at different times of the day for the sunlight as some images came out a little bleached, however when it captured in the right light I was impressed, I flew it for 30 mins over the fields and the range was good, really easy to manoeuvre and tried it indoors to see if I could move it around obstacles easily, and yes its intuitive, love the return to base feature and self landing, I’ve crashed it twice in the trees and it didn’t break the propellers but it does come with spare if needed, but I love it, if I was buying again I probably would buy the new type with the props contained in a circle rather than this because I think I will end up getting through a few of them, I brought in the prime week offer so was a great price, I highly recommend as its a lot of fun and 4/5 easy to set up and use once you have watched a couple of videos. control is excellent too. you do need to buy an SD card if you intend to take a lot of photos

Great Value First Drone
I got a really good deal on the DJI Mini 4K Fly More Combo, which was my first foray into drone life. I did not want to spend more than this on a drone just in case it all went horribly wrong – which it almost did when I managed to fly the drone into my fence on its maiden flight.The drone was really easy to set up and once I had figured out how to fly it without crashing into fences, was a load of fun to get in the air, and it is amazing what you can do and see with this. The Fly More Combo allows you to swap batteries for extended flying, and purchasing or making a landing mat will help you land your drone without mishap.The only weakness with the 4K model is that you miss out on the automated modes such as obstacle detection and programmable flight patterns, but what you gain is the ability to learn to fly drones without these safety nets. This drone is quiet, stable, and for its size, pretty resistant to wind.This is great fun, and a superb tool for surveying as both photos and videos are clear. My only caution is watch out for gulls when flying your drone – they might not like it as much as you do.

Very good basic to Intermediate use
Only used twice but so far, great drone for those new to the drone world like me.Battery performance about 25 minutes in ideal conditions (advise to have at least 1 spare battery) and holds quite stable in mild to moderate winds.Camera quality excellent for my needs for photo and film and UK0 rating so no problem being close to people or buildings.Not tried the follow / tracking function yet so can’t comment. Safety anti collision works as intended to either go around an object or hover / stop to await further command.The only negative seems to be that there are no way points / pre-determined route points to select on the DJI software map for the Lito 1 (which I didn’t know) and users report that it will not be great for night use (yet to experiment with that).Overall a good starter to intermediate drone with good quality day images in VFR mode.If you want full IFR / FPV only with route planning, then an upgrade might be necessary. Although full IFR (out of sight use) would require an authorisation from the CAA no matter which type of drone you use anyway (in addition to Flyers and Operators Registration).The only other gripe which will apply to anyone without a screened controller is that if you are using your own mobile to attach to the controller, it will ask for everything! to be activated before it works as intended (wifi / bluetooth / gps location / no vpn’s) and so not only can it eat more battery power but if you are using for pro use / work use and require discretion, I imagine it would be better using a dedicated phone or controller with screen to secure your privacy and use (despite the images feed already being encrypted). As a leisure user, no problem.Overall happy with the drone so far.

Perhaps not a good drone for Samsung Android users
Essentailly the Drone does not seem to work with Samsung Ultra S24, S23, S22, S21 or S2O phones. The Drone App is not on Google play so you have to download direct. This usually means allowing the phone to download direct from DJI.The app itself is a bit clunky but it did download and appear to work but could not connect to the RC controller. Tried known good USB C to USB cables but still the same. The controller itself would connect to the drone indicated by the change in Drone lights when the controller was switched on. The drone however was unresponsive to any movement of the controls. The documentation that comes in the box is not great – there are however downloadable pdf manuals which are OK.The reason the drone may have been unresponsive could have been because it required updates and they would be impossible to get if the phone can’t connect to the contoller.In all unless you have a known compatible phone I would give this model a miss. Certainly not a good starting drone for some Android users. From my Ai research this seems to be a known issue

Brilliant to fly, cheap and excellent quality
After moving over to a sub 250g drone from a phantom I thought it was going to be harder to fly, but I was very wrong. This little entry level mini 4k is brilliant to fly, it’s so responsive and steady in the wind. If you are looking to start getting into drone flying, buy one of these, yes, you can buy others for 50 quid but with those, you are NOT getting the true experience of what flying a drone should be like, always wondering if it’s going to come back, losing camera feeds, losing connection, poor quality video etc etc… You don’t get all that with the 4k mini, you just know it is going to work and it removes all the stress, which is 50% of flying a drone.. My only regret now, is not saving and buying a pro version, not because there is anything wrong with the 4k, but just because I have now realised I really needed the additional functions of a pro version.

hand controller options
I dont normally write reveiws but i feel i have to on this. this drone comes with the old style hand controller DJI RC-N1C which as i said is the old version it works fine with the drone flying camera action etc but there is a problem when you download the dji app it has a build in practice simulator and this controller will NOT work or play the simulator i spend hours thinking it was me doing something wrong or hand controller was broken so dont even trying your be wasting your time this was also comfirmed by DJI themselfs and it only works and flys the dji 4k mini drone f it wont work with any other drone. if you want all the bells and whistles you have to buy the upgraded hand controller eg DJI RC-N3 or DJI RC-N2 these are the newer versions these will work the simulator and do more than the RC-N1C but the problem is they do NOT work with the 4k mini they only work with higher end range of the dji drones eg mini pro 4 air 3 etc so in a nut shellDJI RC-N1C wont work simulator and will only fly the 4k mini drone no otherthe DJI RC-N3 and DJI RC-N2 will work with other drones and the simulator but will NOT fly the 4k mini drone as there the newer versions of hand controller which i think is a shame really i think they should make then all backwards compatable playstation i think made the same mistake with ps4 not backwards compatable with ps3 etc anyway i hope this helps p wennell

Wow best buy ever! Easy to set up, easy to fly and Amazing pic quality. Took my teenage son out for a first flight, he mastered it instantly and with the extra battery i purchased we had about 50mins of fun . It’s easy to download your pics and videos and great that you can edit them in the fly app. As a first drone, i’d highly recommended this.The only thing i would say is that the batteries take a long time to charge, I think i’ll buy a faster charger.
